Basic
Service Charges
Full details of service charges for individual schemes are available from
Guild Retirement Housing office, but as a general guide the basic service
charge for each scheme will include the following;-
- Resident staff
- Buildings and public liability insurance (excludes personal contents)
- Communal facilities to include tastefully furnished Owners' Dining Room
(waitress-service) and sitting room, for meeting friends and socialising
- Apartment monitoring, door entry and 24hr call facilities
- Communal television aerials
- All exterior building maintenance
- Maintenance of landscaped gardens paths, fences
- Provision and maintenance of passenger lift
- Regular cleaning of all common areas
- Window cleaning to all exterior glass and all common areas
- Domestic assistance (45 minutes x twice weekly) for each resident, e.g.
cleaning, ironing, shopping
- Electric wheelchair storage and charging points
- Individual assessment and personalised care program
- Provision of guest suite for visiting friends or relations
- Administrative and management expenses
Where any resident requires extra domestic or professional assistance this
is charged purely on the basis of the time taken, and as we have resident
staff, this can be provided more economically than employing an outside
agency.
By keeping certain services as an option, we are able to keep the basic service
charge to a realistic and affordable level, and give each resident complete
flexibility. You may perhaps have family living locally that would like to
offer assistance - this we welcome, whether it is short or longer-term. We
can then perhaps step in and help for a couple of weeks, when the family go
away for their holiday. Many residents are still leading active lives and
require very little assistance, though it is extremely comforting to know
that it is available when that point may arise.
